It all started in Verona, where the Helensburgh Oratorio Choir was participating in the Festival Internazionale Corale Verona Garda Estate. After the evening performance, possibly over a glass of wine or two, an idea formed - why not bring a similar celebration of choral music to Helensburgh? After all, we have enough local choirs to fill every evening of the week and more, and are blessed with numerous nationally and internationally renowned international musicians living in the region. Add to that our location - minutes from Loch Lomond and the start of the Highlands, with ferry links to the islands, but with direct access to Glasgow and its transport hubs. Surely we could make it work!
So here we are, a year later, standing up the inaugural "soft launch" programme for 2026, with exciting plans coming together for 2027 and far beyond. Bear with us as we find our feet - but believe us when we say that Helensburgh has something special to offer. Please come join us and find out!
